Ah. Finally. I’ve been hoping someone will do this for years. I thought at one point Figleaves would do it with bras (seriously, Figleaves, get on the case and I will buy more from you). Clothes Horse takes people’s measurements and info about the actual fit and fabric of clothing and tells you which brands and pieces will fit you. This, giving customers the ability to make accurate judgements, is the only way forward for online clothes retail.
Although, Clothes Horse, if you’re listening, maybe you could reconsider the ‘you don’t need tape measures’ bit and give people the option? Because if I tell you my body type is ‘average’ that isn’t enough. I need you to know that tops are always too tight on the bust and that trousers are always too short. This is particularly important for women, whose bodies vary so much in shape. It kind of feels as though you’ve designed this from a male perspective where generic sizes are a bit more use. Also, me telling you my trousers size doesn’t give you my actual waist size - it depends on whether I’m buying high or low waisted trousers, non? It would be good to have the choice of doing it as accurately as possible (but you could keep the current system for people who don’t have a tape or don’t want the hassle…).

Opens at an article about making money online… sorta. Suggesting testing your idea online while you’re waiting for a publisher to look at your work. For niche non-fiction. Suggests using online publishers to see if there’s a demand. Honestly, I’m not sure why you’d do this rather than just self/online publish as your main aim these days, but hey.

Love this. I spend so much money cooking my friends dinner and hate asking for contributions when we’re all having fun. This lets you know how many people are coming and get money in advance. Would be super-useful for supper clubs. Not in the UK yet, but sure it won’t be long.
